I just can’t believe that it has been a year since Bagyong Sendong hit our city. On that day, December 16, I was having a good night rest because I had a long day and I was going to attend the dawn mass. Sadly, I didn’t woke up on time. Then, as we had our “joy ride” around divisoria, we saw the damages that Sendong did to it. It was sad. On the 1st day of Simbang gabi pa nangyari. The following days, I attended the dawn mass at konte lang ang nakakapunta. Naalala ko pa nung may wake-up call ako. Yung nakakasama ko tuwing Simbang Gabi. Hihi. Ok, sideline. I remember that our parish church was full of evacuees. I remember the time na maraming putikan ang mukha sa kalsada. I remember them yelling help. I remember my classmates needing help.
Ang sad pero kahit anong sad pa iyan, there’s always a good thing beside it. In the end, ang city namin ay naging aware. Di na kami nagpapabahala sa mga bagyong dumarating. Katulad ng Bagyong Pablo last week. Prepared na prepared kami. And only less damage was needed to be handled.
Ang sad pero totoo, minsan eneechepwera lang natin ang mga masamang bagay. Pero kapag tayo na ang nakaexperience, diyan pa tayo kikilos.
